Make things happen in your area! Get young people's voices heard! Get a buzz, develop your skills, do someone a favour... join your local Vinvolved YAT!!

WHAT’S A YAT?

Youth Action Teams (YATs) are made up of volunteers aged 16-25 years who want to go that extra mile with their volunteering.

YATs help by:

* Identifying community issues and developing projects to address them.

*Raising awareness and celebrating young people's achievements through volunteering.

*Seeking young people's views about matters affecting them and their local community.

*Inspiring organisations to involve young volunteers and getting feedback from young people on their volunteering.

YATs meet every few weeks in a location convenient to all and/or online.

Within the YAT there are various roles you could end up taking on, for example, Chairperson, Treasurer, Social Secretary etc. Or, the YAT can write its own roles!

So, what are you waiting for? Get in touch! :-)

CAN ANYBODY JOIN?

Yep, as long as you are aged between 16 and 25.

No particular skills or qualifications are required, but we would expect a regular commitment to your volunteering with the group and an enthusiasm for working well as part of a team.

If you do happen to have a particular skill you want to share with the team, great! Make sure you tell us about it when you apply!

There are Youth Action Teams all over Essex, but Caroline & David from the v involved ‘west’ team would love to hear from you if you live in North West

Congratulations to JJ who volunteers at Harlow Kickz Project and won Volunteer Of The Year at the recent Harlow Sports Awards.


JJ, Eddie Reeves (Project Leader), Gomez, Tottenham FC Staff and Volunteers

Volunteer, JJ won Volunteer Of The Year for all his hard work in volunteering at the Kickz project since it opened at the begining of the year.
JJ and many other of the volunteers who help at the Kicks Project in Harlow on a Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evening have already gained thier V50 Award and are now working towards their VImpact Award through Vinvolved.
We are so proud of the time and effort all the Kickz volunteers put into the project,and it shows. Tottenham Hotspur have given the opportunity for young people to do something constructive with thier time, providing a place where young people can visit where they can learn sports and take part in educational activities. Congratulations to Harlow Kickz and Tottenham FC also for winning Most Inovative Scheme.
